Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Mechanical Engineer for a large OEM to collaborate with the VAA Supplier, ensuring resources, tracking launch progress, and delivering on the critical path to a flawless launch. Ideal candidates have a BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, 7+ years in automotive assembly, and strong PM skills with JIT, PFMEA, and line balancing experience to support fast-paced production.

You will work with cross-functional teams and the GM group to align timing and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent training and experience.
• 7+ years of experience in the automotive industry with hands-on experience in assembly processes, tooling and equipment, material flow, quality and fast paced production environment.
• 4+ years of experience in Project/Program Management; working knowledge of just-in-time assembly and sequencing, time studies, line balancing and throughput analysis.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the VAA Supplier to ensure resources and track launch progress; facilitate clear communication with the GM Team to achieve timely deliverables.
• Develop and implement PFMEA and error-proofing methodologies to ensure a flawless launch.
• Support line balancing, throughput analysis, and continuous improvement in fast-paced automotive production environments.

Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for a large OEM to ork closely with the Value Added Assembly (VAA) Supplier to ensure they have the resources needed to succeed, track their launch progress, achieve timely deliverables of tasks on the critical path, and facilitate clear communication with the GM Team. The mission of this position is to ensure VAA Supplier achieves a flawless launch

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent training and experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the automotive industry with hands-on experience in assembly processes, understanding of tooling and equipment, material flow, quality and fast paced production environment
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Project/Program Management Working knowledge of just-in-time assembly and sequencing, time studies, line balancing and throughput analysis
• Well versed in the development of PFMEA, red rabbit and possess good understanding of various error proofing methodologies (vision system, part presence sensing, assembly sequence...)
• Experience with at least one of the components - headliner, front vertical, rear suspension, rear axles, SUVs + pickup trucks - engine dress, tire & wheel - lower console

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Working knowledge of Body Dimensional, GD&T, and Part Data Analysis
• In-depth experience in the assembly processes of the above mentioned VAA modules
