Insight Global is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support a vehicle launch within General Assembly. The role focuses on manufacturing readiness, validating new processes and equipment, and integrating launch content into a high-volume production environment.

The ideal candidate has automotive experience, industrial engineering skills, and a proven record supporting major launches from concept through acceptance.

Qualifications

• College degree with mechanical engineering major or equivalent experience.
• 5 years manufacturing/engineering with 2 years launch experience, automotive preferred.
• Deep knowledge in automation cells and manufacturing processes/equipment.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional work.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects with autonomy.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering activities for vehicle launch to meet safety, quality and throughput targets.
• Develop and optimize high-volume assembly processes, line balance and ergonomic design.
• Support equipment integration, commissioning, and acceptance with controls and maintenance.
• Review PLC logic to ensure equipment functionality and launch readiness.
• Validate tooling and automation systems; ensure GM standards compliance.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions during launch phases.
• Support build events, trials, and pilot operations ensuring process capability.
• Maintain PFMEAs, process sheets, standard work and validation reports.
• Coordinate with product engineering, quality, operations and programs for design changes.
• Drive continuous improvement for safety, quality, and efficiency.
