Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Manager of Special Olympics & Veterans Programs to oversee all operations of the agency's Special Olympics program and Veterans Fitness & Fellowship portfolio. Under the Senior Manager of Operations, you will recruit and supervise coaches, manage calendars, and develop budgets and partnerships with state offices and community groups.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or related field with several years of progressive leadership experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, social work or a related field is required.
• Three years of progressive full-time experience.
• Certification as CTRS or CPRA is preferred or attained within one year.
• Extensive knowledge of recreation activities and program planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operations of the agency Special Olympics program.
• Develop recruitment programs for athletes and coaches; hire, train, supervise, and evaluate coaches; coordinate orientations and meetings.
• Manage the Special Olympics Illinois and Region B annual calendar; order equipment and uniforms; develop Unified teams.
• Develop and manage budgets for Special Olympics programs; maintain contacts with state offices and partner groups.
• Monitor health history forms and coach qualifications; participate in inter-agency sports committee.
• Coordinate Special Olympics events and tournaments; attend seeding and scheduling meetings and games.
• Provide leadership for Veterans Fitness & Fellowship; recruit and supervise specialists; assist with intakes and events.
• Develop youth sports initiatives and maintain all program equipment and supplies.
