Job summary

Marion-Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to assist the radiology manager with daily department operations at our Marion facility.

The role includes stocking supplies, scheduling staff, and producing high-quality breast images. You will perform mammograms, DEXA scans, and localization procedures, mentoring colleagues and ensuring MQSA documentation is inspection-ready.

Qualifications

  • Requires formal Radiologic Technology Program meeting ARRT requirements.
  • Current ARRT and Indiana Radiation Operators license.
  • ARRT Mammography board examination passed.
  • Minimum of two years' Mammography experience.
  • Technical and didactic experience in mammography and bone densitometry.
  • BLS certification or obtain during Orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist radiology manager with day-to-day department operations.
  • Ensure stocking of supplies and staffing/scheduling of personnel.
  • Produce high-quality images and ensure efficient department operation.
  • Perform mammograms, DEXA scans and localization procedures.
  • Mentor other technologists in breast positioning.

Job Summary

This position assists radiology manager with the day to day operations of the department. Ensures adequate stocking of supplies, staffing and scheduling of personnel, production of high quality images and the efficient department operation. Performs mammograms, DEXA scans and localization procedures. Advanced skills and knowledge in the positioning of the breast so that they serve as a mentor to the other technologists. Executes yearly reviews of QA and Procedure Manuals, orients and trains new staff members, maintains routine equipment calibrations and ensures calls are placed to vendor for equipment malfunctions. Maintains all MQSA required documentation in an acceptable form for inspections. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Successful completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Program, which meets the requirements of the ARRT.
  • Current ARRT and State of Indiana Radiation Operators license.
  • Has passed ARRT mammography board examination.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the practice of Mammography.
  • Technical and didactic experience in mammography and bone densitometry.
  • BLS certification or must obtain during Orientation and prior to reporting to department.

Working Conditions

  • Typical hospital clinical environment with frequent standing and walking.

  • Requires ability to work any shift, occasional extended hours, holidays and/or weekends based on the needs of the department.

  • Requires standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling to provide patient care and to tuilize patient care devices necessary to perfomr duties in a safe manner.
  • Requires using computer and other standard office equipment.
  • Uses patient care tools and equipment as they relate to area of clinical specialty.
