Job summary

Bear Real Estate Group is seeking reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician II to support Eva Manor Apartments located in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The Technician II handles complex maintenance tasks, advanced diagnostics, and serves as a technical resource for the community.

You will mentor Technician I staff, oversee turnovers, manage preventative maintenance, participate in capital improvements, and travel between properties to provide advanced support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA 608) strongly preferred.
• 3–5+ years of residential or facilities maintenance experience.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks typical of a Maintenance Technician I, including painting, minor plumbing and electrical work, basic appliance repairs, minor HVAC repairs, turnovers, and maintaining property cleanliness and curb appeal.
• Diagnose and repair moderate-to-complex issues in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
• Perform and oversee preventative maintenance programs across building systems.
• Lead and complete detailed unit turnovers, ensuring high quality and timeliness.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Technician I staff.
• Assist in managing larger projects such as system upgrades, renovations, or capital improvements.
• Participate in collecting bids for repairs and projects up to $5,000; provide recommendations to the Property Manager.
• Conduct and document thorough inspections of units and building systems.
• Ensure logs for inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety systems are accurate including but not limited to snow removal logs, light inspections, elevator inspections, lift station logs, fire systems inspections, etc.
• Track supplies, tools, and equipment usage.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency and high-priority service calls.
• Travel between properties for advanced support and project work.
