Job summary

ITW in Rockford, IL seeks a Maintenance Lead to install, maintain, modify and repair injection molding and automated equipment. You will supervise 3 direct reports and coordinate vendors, while ensuring safety and documentation.

The role requires strong PLC / electrical troubleshooting, hands-on fabrication, and a track record of preventive maintenance. Travel up to 10% may be required; overtime/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two-year degree in Electromechanical Technology or equivalent work experience.
• Specialty certification for Hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical.
• At least 7 years’ technical experience, plastic injection molding preferred, with hands-on experience.
• Effective communicator, both written and verbal (English).
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs.
• Above basic math skills and reasoning ability.
• Strong problem-solving skills and preventive maintenance.
• Overtime and weekend availability.
• Ability to convert customer specifications to value added solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee vendors for both facilities and equipment, this will include issuing PO’s.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair molding and automated machinery using available technology.
• Order parts and fabricate or repair parts with shop tools.
• Operate drill press, grinder, welding, and other maintenance equipment to fabricate or repair parts.
• Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose PLCs; knowledge of programming PLCs is a plus.
• Perform troubleshooting on mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic powered equipment and robotic systems.
• Maintain computer-based machine repair and PM records and comply with safety practices.
• Follow safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly.
