Job Summary

Under direction of facility leadership, the Maintenance Technician performs all maintenance functions, including preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all buildings, grounds, plant machinery, and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all duties in accordance with manufacturer and Stericycle procedures, with strict adherence to safety programs and standards, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), confined space, fall protection, electrical safety, etc.
• Diagnose equipment and make repairs when needed; be on‑call for urgent repairs to maintain operational readiness.
• Perform routine, preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance on a variety of machinery within the plant, including:
  • Autoclave process equipment/systems maintenance (controls, PLCs, combustion air blowers, pressure controls, conveyance systems)
  • Air pollution control devices, air‑cooled condensers, spray condensers, recirculating systems, and carbon beds
  • Various pumps and related components
  • Hydraulic systems (hoses, valves, cylinders)
  • pH control and chemical injection
  • Fire tube boiler and ancillary equipment, steam delivery systems, water softeners, other water‑treatment equipment, air handling equipment, commercial washers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveyor systems
  • Electrical generator systems
  • General air pneumatics (air compressor, regulators, solenoid valves, 2‑way & 3‑way valves, tubing installation, pneumatic pumps and related systems)
  • General plumbing (hard piping, CPVC/PVC, copper, black pipe)
  • Light electrical maintenance (480V/240V/120V/24V power systems, PLC, robotics, and 4‑20 mA control loop systems)
  • Light to heavy fabrication, welding (arc/mig/tig), acetylene torch, plasma cutting, grinding, cutting skills
• Assist Facility/Maintenance Manager with general tasks to ensure a safe, clean, healthy, and efficient facility; support Stericycle’s commitment to safety.
• Document results through work orders or a CMMS based on schedule and priority.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Stay current on all required safety training.
• Be available on‑call and ready for emergency or urgent repairs outside of normal shift.

• Climbing, balancing, sitting, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination.
