Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a General Maintenance Technician Lead to oversee the day-to-day upkeep, repairs, and appearance of a workforce accommodations facility. You will coordinate a team to complete tasks in common areas and support buildings, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

This role emphasizes general maintenance over licensed trades, and prior experience with commercial kitchen equipment is an asset. Strong leadership, tool proficiency, and independent work habits are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, facilities support, or building upkeep preferred.
• Experience leading a team in a lead hand or supervisor capacity.
• Experience maintaining or troubleshooting commercial kitchen equipment is a plus.
• Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily maintenance tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 35–50 pounds.
• Willingness to follow all safety procedures and site policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs to keep facilities functional.
• Lead a small maintenance team, setting daily priorities.
• Coordinate upkeep of accommodations, common areas, and support buildings.
• Repair and maintain kitchen equipment (ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers) as directed.
• Report larger repair needs or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
