Job summary

Rainier Recruiting is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to oversee a hands-on maintenance team in a Tacoma, WA facility. You will troubleshoot and repair advanced industrial and CNC equipment, read electrical schematics, and support process improvements to minimize downtime.

You’ll engage in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control diagnostics, with welding and fabrication often required. This role is on-site and offers strong compensation for a skilled leader.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong troubleshooting ability with CNC or automated production machinery.
• Experience with electrical systems, industrial controls, and machine diagnostics.
• Ability to read electrical blueprints and technical schematics.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to fabricate or modify components when needed.
• Welding and machining experience highly preferred.
• Experience supporting large production facilities with multiple machine types.
• Leadership ability with a collaborative, lead-by-example mindset.
• Calm under pressure with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small maintenance team while remaining deeply hands-on in daily operations.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain advanced industrial manufacturing equipment and CNC machinery.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues across a wide variety of automated production equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and machine documentation.
• Assist with custom fabrication, machine modifications, and process improvements.
• Support electrical work including wiring, circuit troubleshooting, and equipment operating at higher voltages.
• Work with pneumatic systems, dust collection systems, motors, sensors, and machine controls.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities across a large manufacturing operation.
• Partner closely with production leadership to keep operations running efficiently.
