Job summary

Spring Creek Correctional Center in Seward, Alaska, is seeking a Maintenance Specialist, Building/Facility/Construction, Journey 1. You will perform general carpentry, install and repair carpet, flooring, tile and drywall, prep surfaces for paint, and maintain structures and equipment under the Maintenance Foreman.

As Alaska's only Maximum Security adult male facility, the center houses about 200 staff and 500 inmates.

Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools for repair and maintenance.
• Building and construction knowledge for structures and buildings.
• Analytical thinking to address problems using logic and reference materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform general rough and finish carpentry work.
• Install and repair carpet, flooring, tile and drywall.
• Prepare surfaces for paint and paint surfaces.
• Repair and maintain structures and equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment.
