Job summary

Synergy Flavors, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift) in Chicago to lead the maintenance team, assign tasks, and ensure customer satisfaction.

You will maintain and repair equipment, coach less experienced technicians, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to keep operations running smoothly. The role requires extensive hands-on expertise with electrical, mechanical, and control systems, plus a Chicago Stationary Engineer license.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of maintenance mechanic experience.
• Chicago-specific Stationary Engineer license required.
• Experience with Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Motors, Conveyors, and PLCs.
• Knowledge of electrical and/or hydraulic systems.
• Understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and customer-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance techs work with customers and contractors to complete tasks to specification.
• Develop, plan, and execute capital projects across the facility.
• Serve as subject matter expert on plant operating systems and utilities processes.
• Build relationships and utilize external resources to troubleshoot critical failures.
• Participate in projects to upgrade facility and manufacturing processes.
• Communicate issues up the chain and formulate short- and long-term solutions.
• Support a 5-year vision and capital improvements planning for the facility.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and address safety concerns.
