We are seeking a lead maintenance technician to join our day shift team!
Working under general direction, the Lead Maintenance Technician performs complex technical tasks involving the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. This role requires significant independent judgment, creativity, and initiative. The technician is expected to take a hands-on role in day-to-day floor operations and provide leadership and support to other maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning manufacturing equipment using diagnostic tools, procedures, and software.
- Maintain proficiency with all levels of diagnostic and calibration software.
- Dismantle, adjust, rebuild, and reassemble equipment based on blueprints, technical drawings, manuals, or sketches.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate documentation per program requirements.
- Monitor maintenance work order backlogs and communicate potential production impacts to management.
- Calibrate and test equipment using general and specialized tools and instruments.
- Communicate with equipment suppliers regarding repairs and technical issues.
- Recommend design improvements or modifications to enhance equipment performance.
- Train and mentor junior technicians in equipment maintenance procedures.
- Serve as a backup to supervisory personnel when needed.
- Work closely with technicians on the production floor approximately 90% of the workday.
- Obtain and manage vendor quotes for repair services and spare parts; process purchase orders as necessary.
- Comply with all safety, health, and company security policies.
- Participate in overtime and on-call shifts as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electronics, with a focus on servo positioning theory, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience with electro-mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership experience guiding a team of technicians.
- Experience with injection molding and automation equipment.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and equipment diagnostics.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems ranging from 5V to 480V.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical schematics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and specialized maintenance tracking software.
- Familiarity with electronic codes, component values, and basic math.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams and technical support services.
- Deep understanding of industrial safety standards and practices.
