A. Stucki Company, parent of Wheelworx, is seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to help keep our Calera, AL manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently.

This hands-on leadership role involves troubleshooting complex equipment, guiding maintenance activities, and reducing production downtime. Candidates with strong PLC troubleshooting and industrial electrical experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Formación

• Industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Previous lead or senior technician experience preferred.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and electrical control knowledge.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Safety-focused with lockout/tagout (LOTO) knowledge.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities to support production requirements and minimize equipment downtime.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial machinery, production equipment, and automated systems.
• Perform and oversee preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability and extend machinery life.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, electrical controls, sensors, and automated equipment to identify and resolve operational issues.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, prioritize repairs, and coordinate maintenance efforts to restore production efficiently.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and support to other maintenance team members.
• Identify recurring equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain maintenance records, document repairs, and support preventative maintenance scheduling.
• Monitor maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts to ensure resources are available when needed.
• Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing established procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO).
• Collaborate with production leadership to plan maintenance activities and balance equipment repairs with production schedules.

Wheelworx, an A. Stucki Company business, specializes in freight car wheelset reconditioning. Our Calera facility inspects, machines, repairs, and reconditions wheelsets and axles to help rail customers maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to help keep our Calera manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership role for a skilled maintenance professional who can troubleshoot complex equipment issues, guide maintenance activities, and help minimize production downtime. Candidates with strong PLC troubleshooting and industrial electrical experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities to support production requirements and minimize equipment downtime.

Qualifications/Experience Requirements

• Technical training, trade school education, or an industrial maintenance certification is a plus.
• Several years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Previous lead, senior technician, or maintenance team coordination experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and mechanical systems.
• PLC troubleshooting experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of motors, drives, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial control systems.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and responding to equipment breakdowns.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
