Job summary

The Louisiana Schools for the Deaf and Visually Impaired (LSDVI) seeks a hands-on maintenance leader to manage facilities across its campus. The role emphasizes HVAC, refrigeration, welding, and mechanical repairs, plus guiding maintenance staff to keep buildings and equipment safe and functional.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, remodeling work, painting, and handling specialized equipment maintenance. Normal hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience or training in building maintenance or related trades.
• Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, welding, and mechanical repair preferred.
• Ability to supervise and guide maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

• Participates in prevention, correction, and construction of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Oversees daily work assignments for maintenance staff.
• Performs remodeling and new construction tasks.
• Interior and exterior painting.
