Job summary

Mestek, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician in North Carolina to perform a broad range of electrical, mechanical, and building repair tasks on manufacturing equipment and facilities.

You will install, repair, and maintain machinery, conduct preventive maintenance, diagnose issues by listening and testing, and work largely independently to keep operations running safely. Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment; build and maintain mechanical systems using hand and power tools.

• Detect malfunctions by observation or sound and run diagnostic tests to confirm functionality.
• Repair broken or faulty machine parts and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Order materials for repairs and maintain an organized work area; work independently regularly.

Job description

• Responsible for a variety of tasks including electrical work, building repair, machinery repair, and rooftop repair
• Install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment. Responsibilities also include building and maintaining mechanical systems and involve the use of a variety of hand and power tools, and testing equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to mechanical devices.
• Detect malfunctions through observation (sound or visual)
• Run diagnostic tests to ensure system functionality.
• Repair broken or faulty machine parts.
• Perform emergency repairs.
• Choose appropriate materials based on mechanical needs.
• Orders materials needed for repairs etc
• Works independently regularly
• Detects and reports defective and unsafe equipment and materials as well as unusual situations to supervisor
• Observes and obeys all safety rules, practices, and procedures
• Wears and employs personal protective equipment as required
• Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner
• Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested
