The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for a Maintenance Generalist, Lead at Spring Creek Correctional Center in Seward, Alaska. The role supervises a team performing carpentry, flooring, drywall, painting, and equipment maintenance to ensure secure operations.

The position requires hands-on leadership, adherence to safety and security rules, and the ability to coordinate tasks, train staff, and manage tools and supplies. Employment is with the State of Alaska.

Formación

• Knowledge of basic mathematics and the safe and proper use of tools common to equipment and building maintenance.
• Ability to locate and use shop and manufacturer’s reference books and manuals; perform limited construction and maintenance repairs using appropriate tools.
• Lead workers are required to assign, monitor, train, and evaluate daily tasks; coordinate tasks of others and ensure adherence to schedules and safety rules.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and supervise a maintenance team performing rough and finish carpentry, flooring, drywall, painting, and related repairs.
• Coordinate daily tasks, train staff, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Maintain inventory of tools and supplies and respond to emergency situations per procedures.
