Job summary

Chetola Resort is seeking an experienced Maintenance & Engineering Manager to lead all engineering, preventive maintenance, and repair operations for the Lodge, guest rooms, restaurants, and event spaces. You will drive a culture of craftsmanship, accountability, and preventive care while coordinating with the Maintenance Manager - Condominiums and resort leadership.

As a hands‑on leader, you will develop staff, manage capital projects, and ensure facilities are safe, beautiful, and guest‑ready,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical education in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive maintenance or engineering experience in hospitality settings.
• 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a hotel, resort, or full‑service environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems; experience with CMMS is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a maintenance team while fostering safety and service culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day Lodge and hotel maintenance and engineering operations, including guestrooms, spaces, and back‑of‑house facilities.
• Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance staff; conduct safety meetings and technical training.
• Coordinate after‑hours coverage, on‑call schedules, and guest‑centric responsiveness to maintenance needs.
• Oversee vendor/contractor management, inventory, and major projects spanning multiple resort areas.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs and work orders; ensure compliance with safety and building codes.
