Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for high pressure die casting in the Starlink program. The role leads technicians, performs RCA and implements improvements to maximize equipment availability on production lines in Bastrop, TX.

You will collaborate with development, reliability, and automation teams to incorporate reliability upfront and optimize maintenance efficiency, including predictive tools and CMMS usage, while supporting extended hours and travel as needed.

Qualifications

Engineering degree required.
At least 1 year hands-on manufacturing experience.
Internships and project work count toward experience.

Responsibilities

Lead maintenance technicians to diagnose and fix complex equipment failures.
Perform RCA and implement corrective measures for gaps.
Execute complex projects to maximize equipment availability.
Collaborate with development to improve reliability up-front.
Provide CMMS leadership and maintenance planning.
Implement predictive tools for proactive maintenance.
Carry out hands-on repairs of mechanical, electrical, fluid, pneumatic and robotic systems.
Coordinate with internal and third-party resources for repairs and upgrades.
Improve work instructions and processes from technician feedback.
Design machine upgrades with reliability and automation teams.
Update preventive maintenance instructions to reduce failures.
Interface to resolve hold factors blocking production.
Assist with spare parts optimization and inventory levels.
