Job summary

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa seeks a Lead – Engineering to coordinate daily maintenance assignments and support the Engineering Supervisor in directing the maintenance team. This role ensures timely completion of tasks, safety compliance, and preventive/corrective maintenance across casino, hotel, spa, restaurants, pools, back‑of‑house, and grounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Technical certification or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related trade preferred.
• Associate’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Maintenance, or a related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, facilities maintenance, or skilled trades required.
• At least 2 years of experience in a lead or senior technician role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates maintenance activities and assigns shift work based on departmental needs.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance across property, including casino, hotel, spa, restaurants, pools, back‑of‑house, and grounds.
• Operates and maintains work order systems via computer and supports documentation of work completed.
• Inspects work to ensure compliance with safety, timeliness, and quality standards.
• Leads by example and provides hands‑on instruction in the safe use of tools and equipment.
• Schedules and adjusts workloads, evaluates staffing needs, and coordinates time off requests.
• Provides shift leadership in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Trains team members on proper procedures, safety, and new equipment.
• Maintains records including man‑hours, incident reports, and task logs.
• Provides input for evaluations, promotions, and other personnel actions, though does not make final decisions.
• Assists with policy enforcement and adherence to departmental goals and performance standards.
