Job summary

BlueWater Federal Solutions seeks a Senior Legacy Systems Engineer to support USAF at Maxwell AFB. You will lead modernization efforts for legacy IMDS/IMDS-MSM components and ensure operational continuity across enterprise workflows.

Candidate must have 10+ years in legacy systems, COBOL experience, and an active Secret clearance to support critical sustainment missions at an air force base in Alabama.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
10+ years of legacy application support and modernization experience.
Active Secret clearance required.
Experience with COBOL, legacy sustainment, mainframe integration, batch processing, data synchronization, API integration, SQL/Oracle.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for sustainment, refactoring, coexistence management, and modernization of legacy components.
Support analysis, decomposition, refactoring, and incremental modernization while preserving stability.
Evaluate modernization candidates and assist with migration to modern architectures where appropriate.
Support data integrity validation, modernization risk assessments, and rollback planning.
