Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an experienced mainframe developer in Dearborn, Michigan to lead and enhance a suite of enterprise applications. The role involves maintaining stability, delivering new functionality, and driving modernization initiatives toward Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities include production and on-call support, backlog prioritization, defect triage, and collaboration with Product Owners, engineers, and vendors to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mainframe application design, development, analysis, and support.
• Strong technical expertise with COBOL (IMS), JCL, CA7, DB2, COBOL Stored Procedures, and batch and real-time processing environments.
• At least 2 years of experience implementing and supporting z/OS Connect, SFTP, SOAP APIs, REST APIs, and other system-to-system integration technologies.
• Proven ability to design, develop, maintain, and support Mainframe COBOL and JCL applications.
• Experience with source code management tools such as Endeavor and GitHub.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot incidents, resolve production issues, and support business-critical applications with minimal supervision.
• Experience performing application support functions, including system maintenance, security reviews, audit support, and operational support activities.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues in a global environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively balance work based on business impact and urgency.
• Experience with unit testing and integration testing methodologies.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and proactively address unexpected challenges.
• Experience with Google BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred.
