Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Lead and coordinate tool room production activities, ensuring quality and productivity standards are met.
• Adhere to and promote OSHA, MIOSHA, and company safety practices, including machinery maintenance and safe operation.
• Manufacture items to specifications using precision measuring equipment, and resolve manufacturing problems in collaboration with supervisors and engineering personnel.
• Provide training, mentorship, and support to team members and apprentices, including analyzing and resolving work-related issues.
• Develop part specifications, create sketches, and review feasibility of rebuilding/retrofitting older Bekum machines with Service and Engineering departments.
• Perform preventative maintenance, ensure good housekeeping, and operate power equipment and material handling equipment as needed.
• Coordinate with the director of manufacturing on departmental schedules, manpower requirements, and delivery dates.
• Maintain personal hand tools necessary for effective task performance.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or relevant technical certification preferred
• Minimum five years of machining experience in an industrial environment
• Ability to machine all equipment independently with minimal supervision, including prototypes
• Meet all requirements for Machinist III as per Bekum job description
• Leadership experience or training preferred
• Working knowledge of metals, plastics, pneumatics, and hydraulics
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Infor21) and personal computer software (word processing, spreadsheets)
• Ability to speak and understand English; knowledge of German technical terms beneficial
• Willingness to travel as required
