Job summary

The position requires attendance, basic math, and ability to operate packaging equipment. Night shifts offer a $1.10/hr differential and a team-oriented, semi-climate controlled environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, speak, and write English with strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be capable of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations.
• Must possess good organization and time management skills and practices.
• Must be capable of using a computer to complete reports, schedules, etc.
• Microsoft Office strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections to ensure safety of personnel and equipment, correct deficiencies or enter maintenance requests.
• Practice and encourage safe behaviors and ensure that all safety procedures are followed.
• Perform safety, quality and productivity standard work as assigned.
• Verify/conduct required quality checks of the machines throughout the department.
• Assist supervisor daily with staffing, rework, safety incident investigations, and other pertinent projects or issues for the shift.
• Work directly with the Training Team in training of new employees.
• Use positive communication skills to promote teamwork and a team atmosphere.
• Ensure housekeeping is a priority for Packers and Operators – maintain 5S standards.
