As a Machine Learning Engineer ing Tech Lead in the Data and AI Center Of Excellence, you will lead the development of cutting-edge solutions at the intersection of Data Science, Machine Learning, and Software Engineering. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models and overseeing the pipelines and systems that support these models.

The IDEXX Data and AI Center Of Excellence (COE) focuses on creating data and AI assets to enhance IDEXX's products, services, and operations. It comprises talented engineers, data scientists, and analysts driving AI innovation in veterinary care.

In this role:

• Ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of applications and workflows.
• Design and implement robust data pipelines for machine learning workflows.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality standards.
• Define and implement software architecture and design patterns.
• Conduct architectural reviews and provide guidance.
• Align with overall technical strategy and business goals.
• Innovate by applying expertise to various problems.

Collaboration and Development:

• Design and develop an AI Development Platform and promote AI adoption.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and DevOps teams on processing workflows.
• Work with product management to optimize datasets, design patterns, and infrastructure.
• Balance cost, time, and technical capabilities in solutions.

Standards and Best Practices:

• Establish and enforce data and AI development standards.
• Promote data integrity and strategic data value.
• Develop scalable workflows for multiple projects.

Leadership and Coaching:

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship.
• Drive initiatives to successful and timely completion.
• Foster a results-oriented team environment.

Mentoring and Documentation:

• Assist in defining work scope and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Mentor teams on data architecture.
• Document research, prepare reports, and contribute to publications.

Optimizing System Performance:

• Manage technical requests and system design for optimal performance.
• Identify and resolve potential issues proactively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 10+ years of experience.
• Background as a software or machine learning engineer focused on AI solutions.
• Strong knowledge of AI and ML implementation.
• Experience defining resilient data pipeline architectures.
• Proficient in programming (preferably Python).
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Tables.
• Broad understanding of data engineering, cloud, cybersecurity, and MLOps.
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to anticipate technological changes and adapt architecture.
• Skilled in technical discussions with diverse teams.
