Job summary

The Wadsworth Company is seeking an Interior Designer to craft bespoke interiors for luxury custom homes in Southern Vermont. You will collaborate with architects, project managers, contractors, and clients to bring architectural vision to life with sophisticated, functional spaces.

Responsibilities include concept development, material selection, 3D renderings, and managing timelines and budgets to ensure top-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Expertise in residential design, with high-end finishes and luxury furnishings.
• Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate with on-site teams.
• Knowledge of color theory, space planning, lighting design and furniture selection.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration with clients, contractors, and vendors.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Professionalism and discretion with confidential information.
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in interior design focused on high-end residential projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts reflecting each client’s vision while maintaining luxury quality.
• Curate materials, furnishings, finishes and colors to enhance space.
• Provide personalized guidance in material selection, color schemes, lighting, and décor.
• Maintain open communication with clients throughout design and build phases.
• Design functional layouts maximizing space and natural light.
• Source premium materials and furniture aligning with the design vision.
• Collaborate with architects to ensure cohesive integration.
• Create 3D models and renderings using SketchUp to present concepts.
• Oversee the full lifecycle from concept to completion, managing timelines and budgets.
