Voyager Technologies in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Senior Propulsion Engineer to design, build, test, and operate propulsion systems for spacecraft and lunar landers, reporting to the Propulsion and Thermal Systems Manager. This hybrid role requires on-site presence.

Qualifications include 8+ years in propulsion or a Master’s with 6+ years, strong leadership, vendor management, and system-level integration skills. Opportunity to contribute to mission-critical space hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years propulsion experience, or Master’s with 6+ years.
• Knowledge of propulsion system architecture, components, and suppliers.
• Ability to coordinate a technical team of 3+ engineers on multi-year projects.
• Decision making with risk balancing quality, cost, and schedule.
• Vendor management and requirements verification for propulsion components.
• Strong communication skills for reports and technical presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support design, integration, testing, and operation of propulsion systems for spacecraft and lunar landers.
• Coordinate with management, systems engineering, and subsystems on requirements, progress, schedule, and risks.
• Create conceptual and detailed designs of hypergol-based propulsion systems.
• Develop vendor specifications and review manufacturing processes.
• Create integration instructions and support assembly in cleanrooms.
• Support testing activities and on-site vendor hardware when needed.
• Write mission operations procedures and provide real-time mission support.
