Job summary

Cottage Grove Post Acute is seeking a full-time LPN to provide direct, person-centered nursing care for residents and to supervise nursing assistants. You will ensure adherence to federal, state, and local standards and work under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services or a Nurse Supervisor to maintain high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
• Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of the shift as required.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to maintain the resident’s total care regimen.
• Ensure nursing staff are in compliance with their job descriptions and participate in quality assurance programs.
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the facility’s quality assurance program for the Nursing Service department.
• Participate in facility surveys (inspections) by government agencies as needed.
• Review and update the resident’s discharge plan and assist in discharge planning as necessary.
• Interpret department policies to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies.
• Make daily rounds to ensure staff perform according to acceptable nursing standards and report issues to the Nurse Supervisor.
