Job summary

Americare Senior Living in Paola, KS is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse (LPN) to provide frontline clinical leadership and high-quality resident care in our skilled nursing community.

You’ll oversee nursing services on assigned shifts, supervise care teams, administer meds, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with state, federal, and Americare standards, while fostering a safe, compassionate environment.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal nursing regulations.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing services, administration, and clinical supervision during assigned shifts.
• Ensure compliance with nursing care standards, policies, and procedures.
• Supervise and guide nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, and CMAs.
• Complete and update resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation as needed.
• Communicate changes in resident condition to families, physicians, and nursing leadership.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols.
• Conduct routine rounds to ensure resident needs are being met.
• Address, document, and report incidents, accidents, and concerns, including suspected abuse or neglect.
• Ensure appropriate supplies, equipment, and medications are available and communicated to leadership.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote quality care and resident safety.
• Uphold Americare’s mission, vision, values, and company policies.
