Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH seeks a Lead Licensed Practical Nurse to support physicians and lead practice staff in delivering consistent patient care.

You will oversee daily operations in the Youngstown Cardiology department, coordinate staff, and ensure compliance with clinical policies and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a practical nursing program; licensed in Ohio as LPN with BLS.
• Experience in nursing leadership desired.
• Experience in outpatient environment or physician's practice strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead practice personnel to ensure standards of practice and competencies in patient care.
• Monitors patient flow and communicates delays to patients to optimize visit times.
• Receives patients from the waiting room and prepares them for exam.
• Records vital signs, height/weight, major complaint, medications and allergies.
• Collects specimens according to protocols and ensures proper storage and recording.
• Administers medications within licensure and competency.
• Performs quarterly audits and reports outcomes to Performance Improvement.
