K Group Companies in Grand Rapids, MI area is seeking a Field Service Technician II to lead installation teams, configure and program devices, and ensure high customer satisfaction. The role emphasizes leadership, project coordination, and hands-on technical expertise across security and communications systems.

The position requires field experience, strong communication, and licensure, with opportunities to mentor Level 1 installers and collaborate with project teams nationwide.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a construction trade.
• Advanced knowledge of electricity (high/low voltage).
• Hands-on field experience from previous work.
• Basic telecommunication knowledge (TCP/IP, general networking, VoIP).
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Team management/supervisor experience.
• Previous experience with fire, CCTV, intrusion, emergency nurse call systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have valid US Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Execute Level I installer roles following our documentation to uphold standards.
• Demonstrate organizational skills in handling project and service tickets with prompt updates.
• Understand project scopes and service expectations; own tasks and deliver results.
• Lead and mentor Level 1 installers, promoting growth and productivity.
• When leading a team, mentor Level 1 installers and seek feedback for improvement.
• Maintain communication with Project Delivery Coordinators, PMs, and customers.
• Work with nurse call, card access, and video surveillance systems.
• Pursue leadership development and advanced communication skills.
• Perform FAT (Factory Authorized Testing) of products before installation.
• Configure and commission systems for reliable client solutions.
• Willingly take on additional duties as needed.
