Job summary

May Mobility is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Engineer for Localization to architect the next generation of our localization stack. You will lead feature extraction, state estimation, and real-time ML components for autonomous vehicles across diverse road environments.

You will guide cross-functional teams, drive data strategies, and push for robust performance, safety, and reliability in production deployments.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field with strong mathematical and engineering foundation.
• 7+ years of industry experience deploying ML/DL models for computer vision or localization at scale.
• Deep expertise in object detection, classification, segmentation, tracking, depth estimation, 3D reconstruction, and feature detection/description.

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive the technical roadmap for a production-grade localization ML stack across vision, LiDAR, and radar modalities.
• Lead research, design, training, and validation of advanced neural architectures for localization features.
• Own end-to-end data strategy for localization, including data curation, auto-labeling, and synthetic data pipelines.
• Develop metrics and evaluation frameworks for localization performance across diverse ODDs.
• Define failure modes and degradation criteria for localization features and safety cases.
