Job summary

BRIC in Brooklyn seeks a part-time Audio Supervisor to lead audio for complex events, ensure safe operation, and coordinate crews from advance through strike. You will oversee system planning, patching, and on-site troubleshooting, working with visiting artists and BRIC production staff to deliver show-ready experiences while maintaining BRIC audio standards.

This role requires NYC-area residency and availability for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Substantial professional experience in live audio, including prior work as an A1 and leading audio teams.
• Advanced knowledge of digital mixing consoles, system signal flow, gain structure, loudspeaker systems, stage patching, monitors, playback, microphones, and RF systems.
• Strong working knowledge of networked audio, including Dante or comparable protocols, and the ability to diagnose routing, clocking, and connectivity issues.
• Ability to interpret technical riders and develop practical audio plans, patching workflows, equipment lists, and crew assignments.
• Experience integrating visiting/touring audio packages with house systems and collaborating with guest engineers.
• Strong leadership, delegation, communication, and troubleshooting skills in high-pressure live environments.
• Dante Level II Certification

Responsibilities

• Lead audio for complex events and coordinate needs from advance to strike.
• Maintain and troubleshoot systems; perform ongoing maintenance.
• Review riders, stage plots, input lists, RF, playback, and staffing with Production staff.
• Develop event-specific audio plans and assign responsibilities to A1s, A2s, and crew.
• Oversee load-in, system checkout, soundcheck, show operations, and strike.
• Escalate system, signal-flow, console, networked-audio, RF, monitor issues as needed.
• Coordinate with visiting artists and engineers to integrate touring equipment with BRIC's systems.
• Communicate risks and changes with Production staff; ensure clear handoff of notes.
• Maintain Dante routing and patching across venues/spaces.
