Job summary

Convene Hospitality Group in New York City is seeking a skilled A1 Audio Engineer to join our in‑house production team. The role is hourly, with part‑time to full‑time hours on a scheduled shift basis, located across our Manhattan venues.

You will set up and operate sound systems for live events, ensure top‑quality audio, troubleshoot on the fly, and collaborate with event staff to deliver seamless experiences for high‑profile clients. Competitive pay: $55/hour; overtime eligible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an A1 Audio Engineer or similar role in a hospitality or events setting.
• Proficiency in operating audio equipment, including mixing consoles, microphones, speakers, Dante Network management. Familiarity with DAWs and audio editing software is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong ear for sound quality and precision.

Responsibilities

• Audio Setup and Operation: Set up, test, and operate audio equipment for live events, including microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, and playback devices.
• Sound Quality Management: Ensure optimal sound quality during events by adjusting audio levels, equalization, and other parameters as needed.
• Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve audio issues during events to minimize disruptions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with event coordinators, production teams, and other staff to understand audio requirements and deliver exceptional audio experiences.
• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain audio equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and clients regarding audio equipment and setups.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of audio setups, configurations, and equipment inventory.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and guests.
