Line designs include structural or electrical calculations, routing, and preparation of engineering drawings. The electric delivery system in Maine contains approximately 2,600 miles of transmission lines & 317 substations. The electric delivery system in New York contains approximately 5,600 miles of transmission lines & 621 substations. The electric delivery system in Connecticut contains approximately 130 miles of transmission lines and 28 bulk electric supply substations. Position reports to the Unit Manager Line Projects but will workday-today in a cross functional project team and support project needs as dictated by the NYSEG project manager(s).**Key Responsibilities*** Capital project engineering performance including all phases such as scoping and budgeting, conceptual engineering, contract management and design, engineering design, construction, and closeout.* Responsible for leading and creating new conceptual designs and overseeing the work of external detailed designers.* Proactively identify and perform special projects and studies that innovatively solve unique and complex problems with broad impact to the business.* Develop alternate methods or design concepts to resolve unique problems or to improve processes/services,* Solve unique and complex engineering problems.
