Job summary

Harrah's Resort Southern California is hiring a Cook III- Full Time for the Main Kitchen at Harrah's SoCal. This on-site role in Valley Center involves leading a work crew, directing food production, and upholding Harrah's standards and sanitation guidelines.

The position requires strong cooking knowledge, flexibility, and the ability to maintain quality and portion control while coordinating with front-of-house and back-of-house teams. Pay is $23.50 per hour with full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of Level I and II cook or 2 years of cooking in a high volume, quality establishment with culinary experience required.
• One-year Culinary Arts education, trade certifications or training preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime, if required.
• Knowledge of kitchen sanitation standards and procedures
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation
• Must have knowledge to operate and maintain all basic kitchen equipment.
• Able to attend to multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Problem-solving abilities with ability to quickly perform mathematical computations.
• Able to handle high stress in the work environment and turn stress into high energy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food orders in a timely manner per Harrah’s standards and kitchen guidelines.
• Lead work crew and direct food production on the line and in the back kitchen in absence of a chef.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment per USPH standards.
• Ensure ingredient supply levels and recipe standards are met.
• Maintain quality and presentation of food products and control portions.
• Relieve line cooks as needed and assist the chef in lead cooking and supervision.
• Cooperate with front and back of house personnel and manage staffing and breaks.
