Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center is searching for a Lead Line Cook to join their team! We offer a competitive wage of $18-$20.39 hourly, based on experience, along with medical, dental, vision, company paid life, 401k with match, STD/LTD, and many more supplemental plans.

With 193 beautifully appointed guest rooms and over 45,000 square feet of conference and event space, we cater to everything from corporate meetings to elegant banquets—and our food is always at the heart of it.

Position Overview: The Lead Line Cook plays a critical role in the daily kitchen operations and reports directly to the Sous Chefs. This position supports production across all culinary outlets, leads by example on the line, and helps ensure a high standard of food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Execute prep and line duties with consistency and attention to detail
  2. Lead line operations during peak service periods
  3. Support and coach line cooks and prep team members
  4. Ensure food is cooked and presented according to standards and specifications
  5. Communicate clearly and professionally with Sous Chefs and fellow team members
  6. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  7. Assist with inventory, labeling, and food rotation
  8. Help onboard and train new cooks as needed

Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of experience in a professional kitchen (banquet or hotel experience a plus)
  2. Strong line cooking and prep skills across multiple stations
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
  4. Reliable, punctual, and proactive
  5. ServSafe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  6. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
