Base pay range

$23.00/hr - $25.00/hr

Culinary Lead

This is DAYTIME POSITION with no regular nighttime hours. We are looking for a full time creative, detail-oriented cook | Culinary Lead at our new location in Wilmette who takes great pride in putting forth good looking and consistent plates. This position will be responsible for working closely with Store Ownership to ensure all menu items are delivered at the highest standard and are consistent with the company’s culinary vision. The ideal candidate MUST be bi-lingual (English | Spanish). We offer a small team where all members’ contributions are valued.

This role will develop a schedule for launching specials and new menu items, manage BOH employees, work with Owner to execute new menu items, monitor food safety, ensure kitchen | café cleanliness, order food | supplies and control costs by monitoring expenditures and minimizing waste.

The Lunchroom sits inside SPACE 519, a meticulously curated fashion and lifestyle destination like no other. The original location, in the Gold Coast neighborhood of downtown Chicago, opened in 2010. Then in 2018, the shop moved to its current location and with this expansion came food programming including The Lunchroom. This summer, SPACE 519 begins a new chapter with the opening of a second flagship location in the much-anticipated historic redevelopment of Plaza del Lago in Wilmette. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years relevant kitchen experience, excellent communications skills and strong attention to detail. Bilingual language skills (English | Spanish) are required. Working in an open kitchen environment requires our Culinary Team to be professional in appearance and polished to deliver exceptionaloutput to the store’s upscale clientele. Since The Lunchroom at SPACE 519 is not regularly open for dinner, evening shifts are not part of the weekly schedule.
