Job summary

Indiana University is seeking a Lighting Designer for the Musical Arts Center to develop and implement lighting designs for events and performances. Collaborate with guest artists, oversee hangs and focus sessions, and serve as lead console programmer.

The role includes advising on equipment needs, creating drafting and archival materials, and supervising hourly staff. Bachelor's degree required; 2+ years in related field preferred; strong CAD/Vectorworks and lighting software skills desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
• 2 years of experience in related field is required.
• Experience in Lighting Design and implementation in professional and/or academic arenas is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops lighting designs for the center and oversees designs for guest artists.
• Functions as lighting supervisor for opera, ballet, concerts and other performances.
• Acts as lead console programmer and liaison to guest designers.
• Advises on lighting and projection equipment needs and implementation.
• Creates drafting, paperwork, and archival information for productions.
