Job summary

Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington seeks an experienced lighting professional to design and supervise lighting for its events. The role oversees guest designers, leads console programming, and collaborates with the Head Electrician on technical needs and policies.

The position is in-person, with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and high-quality production values across opera, ballet, and concert performances.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • Minimum 2 years in lighting design or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating guest lighting designers and events is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop lighting designs for the center and oversee guest designer work.
  • Lead console programming and liaison with guest designers.
  • Supervise lighting for opera, ballet, concerts and other events.
  • Manage budget, vendor coordination, and equipment inventory.
  • Prepare drafting, light plots, and archival production paperwork.
