Job summary

Vail Resorts in Breckenridge, CO, is hiring for Winter Seasonal 2026/2027 as part of the Lift Experience team. The Lead Lift Experience role focuses on safe operation of resort lifts, supervising the Lift Experience Team, and delivering exceptional guest service with a leadership mindset.

The position requires 1–2 years of lift or mountain operations experience, a HS diploma or GED, and ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of lift or mountain operations experience preferred.
  • Physically capable of assisting guests and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Fluent English communication required.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions; stand and move for long shifts.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, holidays, weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of resort lifts, including staffing and procedures for opening/closing lifts.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating operators and scanners.
  • Ensure safety by enforcing laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with ski patrol, mountain safety, lift maintenance and electric teams.
  • Maintain clean, organized workstations and provide timely guest resolutions.
  • Support ticket scanning and related duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Lift Experience Team’s mission is to provide employees and guests witha seamlessend-to-end experience from maze entrance to lift unloading. Service is the foundation of everything we stand for at VailResorts, and our Lift Experience Team is no exception to this experience of a lifetime. As a Lift Operations Team Lead, you willbe responsible forthe safe operation of resort lifts,overseeemployees in the Lift Experience Team, while being courteous and efficient guest service champions with a proven ability to lead.

Job Specifications:
  • Starting Wage:$22.00/hr - $29.22/hr

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily operations of resort lifts such as scheduling staff and procedures for opening and closing lifts
  • Assistwith hiring, support, and training of operators and scanners in daily operations and safety Monitor and document lift operator performance and behavior to provide meaningful feedback and direction, providing recognition or correction action if necessary
  • Maintainup to date knowledge of and enforce all applicable laws, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety of all guests
  • Work closely with ski patrol, mountain safety, lift maintenance, and lift electric toassistand resolve any problems that may arise on the mountain
  • Promote clean and organized workstations
  • Receive and assess guest questions, comments and complaints providingtimelyresolutions
  • A Team Lead Lift Operator is a flexible employee within the Lift Experience department who takes onadditionaltraining to support ticket scanning
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalentrequired
  • 1-2 years ofpreviouslift or mountain operations experiencerequired
  • Must be physically capable ofassistingguests while loading lifts; maylift upto 40lbs
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all types of inclement weather, standing and moving forentireshift on potentially slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends

The expected pay range is$22.00/hr - $29.22/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
