Job summary

Estes Valley Recreation and Park District operates an aquatic facility where lifeguards ensure the safety of patrons and facilities. The role includes supervising staff in the Aquatics Manager's absence and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities include lifeguard duties, emergency response, and after WSI certification teaching swim lessons, with training and certification support provided by EVRPD. Flexible scheduling helps meet business needs and events at the facility.

Qualifications

• Interact with the public and communicate clearly and concisely.
• Follow lifeguard policies and procedures, including teaching when certified.
• Remain calm in emergencies and work with minimal supervision.
• Apply lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques as required.
• CPR, First Aid, and emergency medical procedures knowledge.
• Provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform lifeguard duties and monitor swimmers for safety.
• Assist Aquatics Manager in leading staff and guests safety.
• Provide emergency care until EMS arrives.
• Teach swim lessons after WSI certification.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the facility.
• Assist with water balance, chemical handling, and pump room checks.
• Complete reports for the Aquatic Manager and assist with events.
• Attend monthly trainings and supervise pool activities as needed.
