Job summary

Pueblo Sandia is seeking a dedicated lifeguard professional to supervise swimmers, train and schedule staff, and enforce water safety rules in a resort pool environment.

The role requires strong swimming ability, current first aid certification, and the capacity to work with guests of all ages. Familiarity with tribal facility policies and safety procedures is essential for daily operations and incident prevention.

Qualifications

  • Must be an excellent swimmer and able to perform water rescue procedures.
  • Be capable of working with both children and adults in a pool environment.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR certifications current.
  • Understand Wellness Center and Tribal facility rules and procedures.
  • Familiar with general safety rules, equipment, games, and operation procedures.
  • Ability to read signs, labels and follow directions accurately.
  • Must maintain composure and communicate effectively under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure swimmers are supervised and step in for lifeguards when needed.
  • Orient new lifeguards and verify training and certifications are current.
  • Assist with scheduling lifeguards to maintain adequate coverage.
  • Ensure lifeguards follow safety regulations and policies.
  • Interface with patrons to address concerns and issues.
  • Participate in teaching swim lessons and water activities.
  • Act as Pool Manager in their absence and communicate maintenance needs.
