Job summary

Palomar College is seeking a Senior Library Technician to independently oversee complex technical library work, catalog acquisitions, and public service operations across multiple Palomar campuses. The role leads daily library activities, processes interlibrary loans, and trains staff while ensuring accurate cataloging and resource management.

The position requires three years of technical library experience and at least a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Experience: Three years of technical library experience.
• Education: Completion of twelfth grade or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day library operations and lead in open daytime and evening hours.
• Assist patrons at the circulation desk and manage materials and holds.
• Oversee interlibrary loan, periodical and serial processes, and cataloging in MARC format.
• Lead for catalog maintenance and training staff on processing procedures.
• Coordinate acquisitions, orders, and vendor communications to support library operations.
