Job summary

Knox College invites applications for the position of Manager of the Keiner Letterpress Studio. This is a part-time, 9-month position reporting to the Director of the Creative Writing Program, overseeing operations, maintenance, and promotion of the letterpress facility in CFA.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree with experience in printmaking or design, and demonstrate commitment to safety, organization, and collaboration with a diverse academic community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• The shop manager will be required to maintain the highest levels of safety, cleanliness, and organization, with respect to every facet of press operations.
• Previous experience in printmaking, design, publication, use/maintenance of simple machinery.
• Ability to work and communicate successfully with a diverse academic community with respect for multiple perspectives and approaches.

Responsibilities

• Learn the proper use of the letterpress equipment to oversee and facilitate its use for student projects.
• Support activities connected to the letterpress in the Department of English, in particular, Prairie Moon Press' broadside series.
• Promote and sustain the presence of letterpress activities on campus.
• Train and supervise new apprentices to the shop.
