Job summary

TYG Landscape Architecture in New York City seeks an experienced landscape architecture professional to join as a senior member of its New York studio. The role focuses on overseeing complex urban landscape projects, delivering high-quality public spaces, waterfront development and civic environments.

You will guide design teams, manage client relationships, oversee budgets, and ensure technical excellence across project stages.

Qualifications

• Approximately 12+ years of professional landscape architecture experience.
• At least five years of responsibility for project programmes, budgets and delivery.
• Degree in Landscape Architecture or closely related accredited qualification.
• Professional landscape architecture registration in New York State, or eligibility.
• Strong portfolio of sophisticated urban landscapes and public spaces.
• Understanding of construction methods and project costing.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of major landscape architecture commissions, coordinating projects from early design stages through technical development and on-site delivery.
• Act as the principal point of contact for clients, consultants and external project partners, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Direct multidisciplinary project teams, balancing design quality with programme requirements, commercial objectives and client expectations.
• Manage project resources, fee allocations, budgets and overall financial performance.
• Work closely with studio leadership to plan workloads, allocate staff and maintain efficient project delivery.
• Provide technical direction on construction packages, material selection, detailing and project specifications.
• Support design reviews, resolve technical challenges and maintain quality standards across project outputs.
• Develop the capabilities of emerging professionals through mentoring, guidance and regular project feedback.
• Contribute to the wider operational and strategic development of the studio.
