Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation seeks a licensed land surveyor to supervise a survey office and deliver professional surveying for transportation projects. You will manage field and office activities, prepare technical reports, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure on-time project delivery.

You will sign and seal plans as the responsible charge, oversee QC processes, and ensure compliance with VDOT policies and APELSCIDLA regulations while guiding project teams and survey

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects with emphasis on scope, time, quality and budget.
• Land Surveyor's License and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a survey office or district survey unit and conduct professional land surveying for transportation projects.
• Prepare reports and manage special survey requests from various agencies.
• Perform project management tasks, cost estimates and construction stakeouts per schedule.
• Sign and seal survey plans as licensed land surveyor and ensure QC of work.
