Job summary

Zing Recruiting partners with a Boise-based civil engineering and land development firm to hire an experienced Licensed Land Surveyor (PLS) for onsite leadership on a range of projects. The ideal candidate will lead surveying efforts, perform boundary, ALTA, topographic, and construction surveys, and coordinate with engineers, architects, clients, and internal teams.

The candidate will mentor crews, manage project scope, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards while using AutoCAD Civil

Qualifications

• Active PLS license required.
• Experience supporting land development, civil engineering, municipal, and construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of boundary determination and surveying principles.
• Experience managing surveying projects and client communication.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Carlson Survey preferred.
• Experience with Trimble GPS and Leica surveying equipment preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage surveying projects from initial research through final deliverables.
• Perform boundary, ALTA, topographic, easement, and construction surveys.
• Conduct boundary research, resolution, and preparation of legal descriptions and plats.
• Perform GPS data collection, total station surveying, and field measurements.
• Support construction staking and land development projects.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients.
• Provide quality control and ensure accuracy of survey deliverables.
• Mentor survey crews, train technicians, and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
• Utilize surveying software and technology including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, GPS equipment, Leica equipment, and GIS applications.
• Drone/UAV mapping experience is a plus.
