Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Wastewater Lead Lab Technician in Oklahoma City, OK.

You will perform analytical testing on water and wastewater samples, operate and calibrate lab instruments, and provide technical support to the lab team to ensure accurate QC and regulatory compliance. The role requires 7–10 years of experience in analytical labs, Oklahoma Class A Operator certification or ability to obtain, and proficiency with EPA methods, LIMS, Windows, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Must have Oklahoma Class A Laboratory Operator or ability to obtain with 6 months of hire.
• 7–10 years of experience in analytical or environmental lab performing physical, chemical, and biological analyses.
• Familiarity with EPA and Standard Methods for Water & Wastewater.
• Understand and follow QC requirements of regulatory agencies.

As aWastewater Lead Lab Technician,you’lljoin a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Based inOklahoma City, OKyou'llperform analytical procedures used in the testing of samplespertaining towater and/or wastewater, treatment planteffluentand various surface waters to include sample preparation, sampling, and analysis of compliance and process control samples. In this role, you’ll operate, maintain, and calibrate instruments and equipment for laboratory analyses and must apply advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of chemistry, biology, microbiology, and mathematics required in an analytical laboratory; use standard laboratory practices and QA/QC procedures and help maintain laboratory accreditation. In addition,you’llprovide technicalassistanceto other areas of the lab andcontribute to the process control function of the treatment facility.

• The Lead Lab Technician will perform chemical,bacteriological,and physical laboratory tests for the water recycling facility. This includes preparation of analytical standard solutions and reagentsutilizedfor analyses.
• Supervise and provide day-to-day guidance to Laboratory Technicians, ensuring compliance with testing procedures, quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Continually review and scrutinize standardized procedures and methods used in analyses.
• Willoperate, calibrate,maintain, andtroubleshootlaboratory instrumentation as needed.
• The Lab Technician may be assigned to special projects that may require coordination with other departments.
• Participates in shared responsibilities tomaintainlaboratory programs including quality assurance, safety, and training.
• Related duties include periodic training of operations personnel on field equipment, analyticaltechniques,and quality controlprocedures.

Here’s what you'll need

• State ofOklahomaClassALaboratory Operator required or ability to obtain through reciprocity with 6 months of hire
• Minimumof 7-10years ofexperience in an analytical or environmental laboratory performing physical,chemical,and biological analysesrequired.
• Valid Driver’s License with no major infractions
• Must be familiar with EPA and Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater methods.
• Must understand and follow the quality control requirements of the regulatory agencies in Mississippi
• Ability to scrutinize analytical data at a higher level and make sound decisionsregardingproper laboratory operation; able to clearly present information and data both orally and in reports.
• Must be able to make chemical solutions, perform standard chemical calculations, and perform routine mathematical and statistical calculations.
• Must be familiar with Windows operating systems, have knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access), and a Laboratory Management Information System (LIMS).
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based organizationrequired; work effectively with others in solving problems; willing to accept suggestions from team members, and offerexpertiseas needed.

Ideally,You’llAlso Have

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field from an accredited university or college
• Must have advanced knowledge of laboratory tasks, techniques, equipment, and terminology used in environmental laboratories. Working knowledge of the basic principles and practices of chemical,physicaland microbiological analysis of water and wastewater
• Knowledge of the operation of advanced laboratory equipment isrequired. General knowledge and principles of advanced analytical instrumentation such as IC, TOC analyzer, and ICP.
• Ability todemonstrateeffective communication skills, including listening skills.

The base salary range for this position is $69,600.00 to $80,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
