Job summary

Kennestone Hospital is seeking a Lab Support Services Specialist II to join the laboratory team on site. You will support processing and handling of patient specimens, operate laboratory information systems, and contribute to quality and efficiency in a busy hospital setting.

Under supervision, you will lead in the absence of supervisors, ensure accurate testing workflows, and train new staff while maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in specimen processing.
• BLS certification upon hire (or equivalent).
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing and related duties across laboratory areas.
• Operate LIS and HIS systems as needed.
• Serve as lead in the absence of the supervisor.
• Maintain accuracy, quality, and patient safety in all tasks.
• Train new staff in department procedures.
