Job summary

DGA is seeking an experienced architectural lab planner and project architect to lead laboratory programming and planning for science facilities in the United States. You will collaborate with Principals, Project Managers and Designers, translating complex lab ideas into actionable space programs and clear technical drawings.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in lab planning, architectural registration preferred, strong communication, and proven client management skills.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of architectural lab programming/planning and project architecture experience.
  • Architectural registration preferred.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing clients, project teams and project processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and Microsoft Office Suite products.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate creativity and planning of laboratories within technical facilities.
  • Advance knowledge of regulatory requirements for laboratory design.
  • Communicate lab planning needs to designers and clients.
  • Meet with clients to develop or validate program requirements for labs.
  • Develop space programs and layouts at multiple scales.
  • Collaborate with the project team on service distribution concepts.
  • Lead documentation of lab systems and construction documents.
  • Participate in marketing through proposals and presentations.
